Jesenia Lopez-Rodriguez is a joyous illustrator living in Northeast, OH. Despite being a primarily digital illustrator, Jesenia looks for ways to incorporate the textural touch of traditional media to add dimension to her illustrations. Jesenia is deeply influenced by the abstract expressionist movement, traditional watercolor mark-making, and storyboarding for animation. She believes artists with different practices can grow and explore different possibilities of creating by learning from one another.

Jesenia’s most important goal as an illustrator is to expose dysfunctional familial dynamics and advocate repair. Whether she’s creating stories advocating children’s rights as autonomous beings or writing and developing end-of-the-world scenarios where families must come together and reconsider their roles in her concept development work, Jesenia believes her illustrations can convince people to come together to create a better reality.
